La Boheme: The Story of Mimi

Artists have always had to sacrifice, but for the Bohemians of 19th Century Paris, life was very hard indeed.  In Puccini's La Boheme, we meet Rodolfo, a poet, and Marcello, a painter, on Christmas Eve as they struggle to keep warm. Love only makes life more difficult; Marcello fights with Musetta, his singer girlfriend, and Rodolfo helplessly watches his dear Mimi become sicker and sicker with tuberculosis.  Despite their difficulties, these valiant characters learn to celebrate love, friendship, and artistic idealism as they bring this classic tale to its bittersweet conclusion.  Assisting in this program will be volunteers from the school and a famous composer in a surprise appearance.  This performance is sung in English.
