This is a one day program that can be combined with our Introduction to Opera or other programs Beginning with theater exercises then adding group and solo singing, this workshop highlights the two main components of opera: Music (singing) and Drama (acting). Creating Characters in Opera aims to introduce students to broader ways of communicating. How does an older person move compared to a small child? How do dynamics, range, tempo, eye contact, and body movements convey sadness, anger, happiness, fatigue?

Residencies lasting one week or more can be planned for a variety of needs to integrate into your curriculum and school schedule. These often conclude with a final performance, with Opera to Go members directing and/or participating in the performance.
